ABOUT THE STAFF

KRISTINE PARANICA, Director of the University of North Dakota's (UND) Conflict Resolution Center
Kristine Paranica

Kristine Paranica, J.D., Director of the UND Conflict Resolution Center , provides mediation, facilitation and training for CRC clients. She also serves as Adjunct Professor of Law in Alternative Dispute Resolution at UND. She is an Associate Member of the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation, an Advanced Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), and also serves on the ND Joint Committee on ADR. Kristine previously served as a District Court Staff Attorney where she helped to establish and oversee the district's mediation program and served as a Judicial Referee, and has worked as an Assistant State 's Attorney for Burleigh County .

She has published works at Mediate.com and the North Dakota Law Review and has presented nationally at the International Conference of the Association for Conflict Resolution in Toronto in 2001, the Family Section Conference of the Association for Conflict Resolution in Savannah, Georgia in 2002, the National Conference for ACR in Orlando, Florida in 2003, and the International Conferences on Transformative Mediation in Philadelphia, St. Paul, and Santa Barbara.

She has developed online courses in Leadership and Conflict Resolution through the UND Medical School, and Conflict Resolution: Basics of Conflict Management through UND's Continuing Education program.



LINDA HENDRIKSON, Conflict Management Consultant
Linda Hendrikson

Linda Hendrikson is a Conflict Management Consultant at the UND Conflict Resolution Center . Linda received her initial training from the Center and has had additional training from Joe Folger, Dorothy DellaNoce, and Christopher Moore.

Linda coordinates the efforts of a diverse group of professionals to provide a wide range of conflict management and educational services to the University and the region.

She is a Blue Ribbon Mediator for the US Postal Service and also serves as a mediator, group facilitator, trainer, consultant, and as a mentor to new mediators.

She has a M.A. in Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of North Dakota. She has presented nationally at the Family Section Conference of the Association for Conflict Resolution.

Linda also co-authored two chapters in "Designing Mediation", published by the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation.



CHRISTOPHER CASSETTA, Conflict Management Consultant
CHRISTOPHER CASSETTA

Christopher Cassetta is a Conflict Management Consultant at the UND Conflict Resolution Center . His roles at the Center include mediation, facilitation, education, development and marketing. Christopher received his initial mediation training from the Center as a student in the UND Peace Studies Program and the School of Law , with additional training at the Austrian Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution training program for civilian peacekeeping staff.

He has worked as a civilian consultant for numerous international governmental and non-governmental organizations in the areas of conflict management, post-conflict reconstruction, democracy building, rule of law development, and human rights protection and promotion, including diverse field-mission experience.

Christopher also served as the Publications Officer for the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, and as an affiliated lecturer for the Lund University School of Law LL.M Program in Human Rights and Humanitarian Law. He has published and lectured internationally on the topics of civilian peacekeeping missions, human rights, and corporate social responsibility.



GAIL COLWELL, Administrative Assistant
 GAIL COLWELL

Has an associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology from Northwest Technical College. She has studied accounting and computer technology and has many years of experience in both. Gail has been employed at UND since 1995 working at the UND Aerospace Flight Operations Administrative Office and the Educational Opportunity Center/TRIO Programs.
