UND Conflict Resolution Center Certified in
Conflict Dynamics Profile

Kristine Paranica, director of the University of North Dakota Conflict Resolution Center (CRC) and Sarah Prom, a CRC conflict management consultant, were recently certified in using the Conflict Dynamics Profile (CDP), a multi-rater instrument designed to help people better understand the way they typically respond to conflict and help them improve those areas that are most problematic.

The CDP does this by measuring an individual's behavior from several different vantage points, including self, peers, direct reports and supervisor about how they see the individual responding before, during and after conflict (360 degree). This tool will be available to individual clients and organizations who want to reduce the cost of conflict and improve their working climate.
Annual Symposium:
CIVILITY IN PUBLIC CONVERSATION:
Have we lost our ability to talk?
Date : May 21-25, 2012
Location : Grand Forks, ND
We are hitting the campaign trail and one of the hottest topics of our time! Lets talk about why we can't talk without inciting riots and taking hard-line and extreme positions; and why Washington has gone from a place where our representatives could have lunch AND still fight hard for what they believe to be right, to large empty spaces where you can't cross invisible party lines. What do the various schools of thought have to offer? What causes incivility, how does it benefit or harm us as a society and a democracy, and where are we headed?
Look on our website as we create our esteemed guest list! Call if you want to help with this community-wide event!
